At Morgan Haigh Therapy, I offer personalized services designed to support teens, children, and families through life’s challenges. My goal is to provide a safe, welcoming space for growth, healing, and connection.

Child Therapy

Let’s Support Your Child Together

At Morgan Haigh Therapy, I specialize in working with children ages 3–12, helping them navigate the challenges of childhood in a way that feels natural and supportive.

If your child has become more withdrawn, irritable, or frequently sad; avoids social situations; or has trouble managing big emotions like fear, worry, or frustration, I’m here to help.

Signs Your Child May Benefit from Therapy

Your child might need additional support if you’ve noticed:

  • Frequent Mood Changes: Irritability, sadness, or heightened worry.

  • Behavioral Challenges: Trouble managing frustration, frequent meltdowns, or acting out.

  • Social Withdrawal: Avoiding friends, family, or group activities.

  • Difficult Transitions: Struggles adjusting to a move, a new sibling, or a change in routine.

  • Physical Symptoms of Stress: Headaches, stomachaches, or trouble sleeping.

Therapy can help your child feel more confident, secure, and supported.

Parent Involvement is Key

As a parent, you play a crucial role in your child’s growth and healing since— you are the expert of your child. I collaborate closely with families to ensure that the therapeutic work extends beyond the playroom. I offer parent sessions where I may provide updates, share insights, and offer practical tools to help you further support your child at home. I also offer family collaboration, where together we’ll create a plan to foster lasting change in your child’s emotional well-being and your family’s dynamic.

This partnership ensures that the progress your child makes in therapy can flourish in their everyday life.

How Play Therapy Helps Children

Children don’t often communicate their struggles with words—they use play. Play therapy provides a safe, nurturing space where children can express their feelings, process experiences, and explore solutions to the challenges they’re facing.

Through sand play, art therapy, storytelling, and imaginative play, children can communicate feelings they may not have the words to describe, process anxiety, sadness, anger, or stress in a healthy way, build problem-solving skills and resilience, and develop a stronger sense of self and emotional regulation.

In play therapy, toys and creative activities become the tools of healing. This approach allows children to work through their struggles in a way that feels natural and engaging to them.

A Safe, Creative Space for Your Child

My therapy space is designed to be warm and welcoming—a place where kids can feel free to be themselves. Play therapy allows children to explore their emotions without fear of judgment. Whether your child is facing anxiety, sadness, emotional outbursts, or difficulty navigating life’s transitions, I’m here to help them process those feelings and build skills to thrive.

Therapy for Teens/ Adolscence

Growing up in Today’s World Isn’t Easy

Life as a teenager or pre-teen today is full of challenges. Teens are juggling school, friendships, life transitions, and trying to figure out who they are—and don’t even get me started on the hormones! Throw in the lasting effects of a pandemic, the constant comparison on social media, and the pressure to 'have it all together,' and it’s no wonder so many teens feel stressed, overwhelmed, or alone.

Maybe your teen seems to be struggling more than usual. They’re withdrawn, constantly irritable, or seem to have lost the spark they once had. As a parent, you may feel unsure about how to help. It’s a frustrating and exhausting experience for everyone involved.

The good news? There’s hope. Therapy offers a safe, nonjudgmental space where teens can process their emotions, build their confidence.

Signs Your Teen May Need Therapy

Here are some signs that may indicate your teen or pre-teen could benefit from therapy:

  • Emotional Changes: Intense mood swings, frequent irritability, or overwhelming sadness.

  • Withdrawal: Avoiding friends, family, or activities they once enjoyed.

  • School Struggles: Declining grades, lack of motivation, or frequent trouble at school.

  • Behavioral Concerns: Acting out, getting into fights, or engaging in risky behaviors like substance use.

  • Self-Esteem Issues: Expressing feelings of worthlessness or self-doubt.

  • Physical Neglect: Ignoring basic hygiene, significant weight changes, or loss of appetite.

  • Difficulty Coping: Overwhelmed by changes such as moving, divorce, or a death in the family.

If any of these resonate with you, it may be time to reach out for help.

A Note for Parents

Watching your teen struggle is heartbreaking. You want to help, but it can feel like nothing you do is making a difference. I want you to know that you’re not alone. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” your child—it’s about giving them the tools and support they need to process their emotions, build resilience, and navigate life’s challenges.

While your teen’s therapy sessions are confidential (except in cases where safety is a concern), I will work with you to provide updates and practical tools to improve communication and strengthen your relationship at home. Together, we can help your teen feel supported and understood—not just by me, but by you as well.

A Note for Teens

Hey, I get it—life can feel like a lot right now. You might feel like no one understands what you’re going through or that opening up to someone new sounds scary. I want you to know that therapy isn’t about judging you or forcing you to change. It’s about creating a space where you can talk about what’s really going on, at your own pace, and without pressure.

I’m here to listen to your story, on your terms. Whether you’re feeling stressed, stuck, or just plain misunderstood, I want to help you figure out how to navigate all the craziness life throws your way. Therapy is a place where you can be yourself—no filters, no expectations.

Let’s Work Together to Support Your Teen

Whether in-person or online, therapy can help your child build confidence, improve communication, and develop the tools they need to thrive.

If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to support you and your family.

Family Therapy

Why Family Therapy?

Family therapy is a powerful way to address challenges within the family dynamic. Whether you're dealing with communication issues, a major life transition, or emotional struggles, therapy provides a space for healing and growth. By working together, families can overcome difficulties and strengthen their bonds.

How It Works

In our sessions, I’ll create a welcoming environment where every family member feels heard and valued. Together, we’ll explore what's going on and explore how each person’s feelings and actions impact the family dynamic. Together, we’ll work on improving communication, resolving conflicts, and building healthier patterns that bring everyone closer.

Building Stronger Connections

Family therapy isn’t just about solving problems – it’s about creating deeper connections. Through honest conversations, we work to foster empathy, trust, and a sense of mutual support. As you work through your challenges, you’ll start to feel more connected and better equipped to handle anything life throws your way.

Long-Term Benefits

The goal of family therapy is to create lasting change. By learning new skills and gaining a fresh perspective, families can navigate future challenges with more confidence and resilience. You’ll walk away with stronger relationships and the tools to keep growing together in a healthy, supportive environment.

Group Therapy

Why Group Therapy is Powerful for Teens

Teens are in a unique developmental stage where peers play a significant role in shaping their confidence, identity, and outlook. Group therapy leverages this by providing a safe, supportive environment where teens can connect with others facing similar challenges.

Here’s how group therapy can benefit teens:

  • Build Trust: Strengthen interpersonal connections in a safe and nurturing space.

  • Feeling Less Alone: Sharing with peers who truly understand their struggles can be incredibly validating.

  • Gaining Perspective: Group discussions provide new ways of thinking about and approaching challenges.

  • Receive Support: Share experiences and hear from others who truly understand.

  • Build Confidence: Develop self-acceptance and trust in yourself.

  • Improve Self-Awareness: Reflect on your behaviors, emotions, and interactions with others.

What to Expect in Teen Groups

In these sessions, teens will have the opportunity to share experiences at their own pace in a nonjudgmental space. It’s completely natural to feel shy or nervous when starting group therapy! Building trust and forming bonds takes time. Teens will also build skills for managing emotions, navigating relationships, and coping with stress. The group setting allows them to practice social interactions, reflect on their feelings in a supportive environment, and learn coping strategies from both the therapist and peers. Another benefit of group is a change to develop a greater sense of self-worth and belonging. Through support and shared understanding, they realize they’re not alone, which boosts their confidence and helps them feel valued. This sense of community fosters greater emotional resilience and a positive self-image.

Teen Connection Groups

I currently offer two in-person teen group therapy sessions:

  • Sundays, 1:00 – 2:30 PM

  • Wednesdays, 6:00 – 7:30 PM

How to Join

  1. Reach Out: Contact me to discuss your teen’s needs and determine which group is the best fit.

  2. Schedule a Pre-Group Intake: I will meet with you and your teen to learn more about your teen and ensure they feels comfortable and ready to participate.

  3. Start the Journey: Your teen will join peers in a space designed to foster connection and growth.

Group therapy is a powerful way for teens to feel understood and supported during a time when connection with others is vital. If your teen could benefit from a safe space to share, grow, and gain confidence, I’d love to welcome them to one of our groups!

Parent Coaching

Parenting is One of the Toughest Jobs in the World

Parenting is rewarding, but let’s face it—there are moments when it feels overwhelming, frustrating, or even impossible. Here in the San Fernando Valley, I see so many parents struggling with the same questions:

“Why isn’t my child listening to me?”

“Am I doing enough to support their emotional needs?”

“Why does everything I say seem to lead to conflict?”

If you’ve ever felt stuck, burned out, or unsure how to move forward, you’re not alone. Parenting is hard work, and every child’s needs are different. Add in the pressures of balancing work, family, and the challenges of modern life, and it’s no wonder so many parents feel like they’re barely keeping it together.

The good news? Parent coaching can help.

Signs You Might Benefit from Parent Coaching

Here are some signs that coaching could help you strengthen your parenting approach:

  • Frequent Power Struggles: Every conversation with your child feels like a battle.

  • Communication Breakdown: You struggle to connect or communicate effectively with your child.

  • Behavioral Challenges: Your child exhibits defiance, aggression, or other difficult behaviors.

  • Overwhelm: You feel emotionally drained, stressed, or unsure how to handle parenting challenges.

  • Discipline Struggles: Consequences don’t seem to work, and your child’s behavior isn’t improving.

  • Parenting on Different Pages: You and your co-parent aren’t aligned in your approach, leading to confusion and conflict.

  • Big Life Changes: Your family is navigating transitions like divorce, remarriage, or a move, and it’s affecting your child’s behavior.

If any of these sound familiar, parent coaching can provide the guidance, tools, and confidence you need to create a calmer, more connected household.

What Is Parent Coaching?

Parent coaching is a collaborative process where I work directly with you to identify your unique parenting challenges and create a plan tailored to your family’s needs. Unlike therapy, which focuses on processing past experiences, coaching is action-oriented and centered on practical strategies you can start using right away.

Through coaching, you’ll learn how to communicate with your child in a way that fosters connection and trust, while building tools to address challenging behaviors with consistency and confidence. Together, we’ll work on creating a positive and supportive environment where your child can thrive. You’ll also gain clarity and alignment with your co-parent or partner on parenting approaches, allowing for a more united front. Most importantly, you’ll rediscover the joy and satisfaction that comes with your role as a parent.

A Note for Parents

Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, and it’s okay to feel like you don’t have all the answers. Seeking support isn’t a sign of failure—it’s a commitment to doing what’s best for your family. In our work together, I provide a judgment-free space where we can address your specific concerns, explore what’s working (and what’s not), and create actionable steps to move forward.

Whether you’re dealing with a strong-willed child, managing sibling conflict, or simply trying to feel more confident in your parenting, I’m here to help. Together, we’ll create a plan that works for your family.

Parent Coaching in Action

Imagine this:

Instead of constant arguments, you’re having meaningful conversations with your child, and you feel equipped to handle tough situations without losing your cool. Your household becomes more peaceful, with routines and boundaries that everyone understands and respects. You and your partner work together as a team, aligned on parenting decisions and supporting each other along the way.

This is exactly what parent coaching can help you achieve.

Let’s Work Together

Whether you’re facing specific challenges or simply want to improve your approach, parent coaching provides the tools, strategies, and confidence to transform your family dynamic.

Parenting doesn’t have to feel so hard. Let’s work together to create the family dynamic you’ve been hoping for.
